Before I left Taiwan I stocked up on items from all my favorite stationery stores: notebooks, note cards, sticky notes, etc. In my time there I had grown immune to the hilarious English translations on these items, but I knew there would come a day when I needed and appreciated this "inspiration" again.
That day has come. I hope you will also be inspired by the text on these notebooks in my hand...
Written down you every hopes and every dreams. As I come close to a dream, my heart throbs. My hopes have begun to swell.
Good warriors do not fight good fighters are not got angry good winners do not know winning good leaders stay below the people this is called the victory of never fighting the power of wielding the people therefore there is only one principle faced with heaven
Perhaps it is destined relationship to meet you by chance. However, I sincerely hope the realtionship will continue.
Learning has no stopping line as the ocean without an ending line.
Was there not a native English speaker around to proof these before going to print? (Because we always get it right. {insert nervous throat clear} Remember my recent "your/you're" mix up? I don't think I'll ever forgive myself. And how many mistakes are in this post that I haven't even found yet? Should I click publish? I'm so nervous. I beat myself up because I am a former English teacher. I taught those little Asian children who will grow up and print funny signs! It's all my fault.)
To my other globe trotters out there, what poorly written signage or print material have you enjoyed?

While in Japan on a trip to visit a mission family we stopped at a convenience store. I chose this delicacy to drink despite the chance that it may actually contain what it advertises: http://www.nemu-nemu.com/2009/11/17/henshin_sweat_pocari_sweat.php
Apparently there was something originally wrong in the translation and it was supposed to be "sweet." But, they just left it.
Ah, yes. The pocari sweat drink. An Asian classic! Love it.
Please write a book asap. I will read it all in one day.
yes. write that book.
and yes. i spend my time practicing gloria's accent too. in the past two days, my dad has asked me three or four times to do my impression in front of whatever group of people we're with. he loves it. modern family marathons aren't a bad thing. in fact, we should get together and share in the fun.
